Question:  What Is the Tea Party?

Answer: The Tea Party is a dynamic and powerful grassroots movement.  It is not a political party, but a loosely organized, bi-partisan group of American citizens who are concerned about the direction of America.  There is no “leader” as such, but American citizens who have banded together. We stand with our founders, as we urge members to engage fully on the issues they consider important and aligned with their beliefs.

Question:  Who is the Tea Party Patriots of Central Pennsylvania?

Answer:  We are a group of individuals living in Central Pennsylvania who share a common desire to return our government (local, state and federal) back to “the will of the people.”  We are affiliated with the national organization Tea Party Patriots that has approximately 2800 groups across America.

Question:  Is the Tea Party Patriots of Central PA independent?

Answer:  Although we are affiliated with the national Tea Party Patriots, we are free to conduct our local organization as we choose.

Question:  When did the Tea Party Patriots of Central Pa. begin?

Answer:  Our local group began with a Tax Rally in April, 2010.  Our second event was a Rally on October 23, 2010.  We have a steering committee of approximately 20 people in addition to committees implementing our goals and mission.

Question:  What does the organization stand for?

Answer:  We have 3 Core Values; the binding ingredients of all Tea Party Patriots organizations.  They are:

  • Fiscal Responsibility
  • Constitutionally Limited Government
  • Free Markets

Question:  Does the Tea Party endorse candidates?

Answer:  No, The Tea Party Patriots does not endorse candidates.  When you hear about a candidate who has been endorsed by the Tea Party, it may be coming from either the Tea Party Express or Tea Party Nation, which are separate organizations from the Tea Party Patriots.

Question:  Is the Tea Party Patriots of Central PA affiliated with any political organization or party?

Answer:  We are NOT affiliated with any group or political party.  While we may agree with the positions of other groups, we are completely independent.

Question:  If I make a donation to the Tea Party Patriots of Central Pa., how is that money spent?

Answer:  We have no staff and pay no dues to any organization.  Your entire donation is used in Central PA to support our mission through community education and actions supporting our three core values.

Question:  What are you doing to make changes in Washington DC. and Pennsylvania?

Answer:  Our work has just begun!  We plan to hold ALL elected officials accountable by direct contact with them and their staff, reminding them that they are in office at the “will of the people.”  This applies to all, regardless of their political affiliation.  We have an extensive network in place to help us be proactive and we are dedicated to reversing the damage that has occurred.

Question:  What are your plans to advance accountability and make the changes that are needed in our government?

Answer:  We the citizens of Central PA are determined to return our country back to its founding principles by applying pressure to elected officials (local, state, and federal) to return to those principles regarding freedom and liberty,

Question:  What actions are needed?

Answer:  We need to energize, educate, and empower people to speak out about American exceptionalism and the true meaning of our Constitution.  We need to learn to be proactive instead of reactive.  We need to stand up for the concepts of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets.

Question:  What can I do now?

Answer:  Educate yourself, dig deep and get the facts, understand the Constitution, contract your Legislators, and encourage your friends and neighbors to become involved.  Bring someone to the next meeting!!!
